Meet Kerriann
Hi! I’m Kerriann (she/her) and I’m a telehealth therapist who helps clients of all ages to overcome anxiety, stress, and grief so they can feel happier, healthier, and stronger.
A therapy session with me feels relaxed, comfortable, and safe. We will talk through the challenges you’re facing, and I’ll help you to develop strategies to address your challenges and embrace your strengths. My clients say that I’m accepting, warm, and non-judgmental, and that they appreciate the authentic and honest approach I take within the therapy sessions.
Therapy works great when you have a therapist who is the right fit for YOU. It doesn’t work if you don’t feel safe and comfortable with the therapist. For that reason, I’d like to tell you a little bit about myself, as a therapist and as a human being.
I’ve been a therapist for 13 years, and I’ve been working with individuals and families with mental health needs for two decades. Clients call me warm, empathetic, kind, and unconditionally accepting. The individuals I work with (kids and adults) know that there is nothing they can say to me that will provoke judgment or condemnation; I have heard it all, and I don’t think progress can be made unless you can feel safe to say anything and everything out loud. If you are familiar with therapeutic techniques, it’s important for you to know that I utilize a mix of mindfulness, brief solution-focused therapy, and CBT in my work; I utilize a person-centered approach, meaning that I meet all clients where they are at, and I help them to set and achieve goals so they can survive and thrive through all the ups and downs of life.
Much more important for you to know is that I’m a mom of three kids. I was a therapist who specialized in working with children and families before I became a mom, and it STILL is the hardest job I’ve ever had.
I love working with moms at all stages of the parenting journey - new moms, working moms, moms in transition, adoptive/foster parents, moms of pre-school/school-aged/teenaged kids, and empty nesters. I have a special interest in working with moms who have a child who is struggling with a mental health, emotional, or behavioral need.
I also love working with school-aged children (ages 5 through 12) who are struggling with anxiety, stress, life transitions, grief/loss, and/or family relationships. I have specialized training in play therapy and I utilize play and expressive arts therapy to engage my young clients.
I am a SPACE treatment provider as well. SPACE is an evidence-based treatment for children and adolescents with anxiety that focus on parent-based work and is effective in decreasing symptoms of anxiety in children. Learn more about SPACE here!
Therapy can be a safe space to explore all the feelings that go with being the amazing person you already are. I do believe it’s best to hear my voice and have a brief chat so that you can get a sense if I’d be a good fit for you or your child. Click below to schedule a free phone consult today.
